East of the foothills ... HK P7M8 (Del Fatti ISP-4) or HK45C (Ralston IBS), with Federal HST +Ps in both.

Up the hill: An avid small stream fly-fisher, it's generally a 2.25"/.357 Ruger SP-101 (Galco Fletch) and when in the backcountry, I reach for the Glock 20 (Galco Fletch), with Double Tap's Hardcast rounds in the 20 & a blend of CCI snake-shot & D.Tap's Hardcast rounds in the 101.
